Hunter Pethel is a lifelong resident of Greensboro, North Carolina that started his own full-service design and construction business in 1995. He has worked with clients on a variety of levels from site selection, to design, to final construction.

In 2017, he made the transition away from the construction aspect to focus on full time design and drafting work. With Degrees in Architecture and Engineering, he has been able to blend his design experience with a full understanding of the construction process, enabling clients to benefit from an aesthetic and design standpoint, as well as facilitating an efficient and cost-effective building process for owners.

His work has included projects in Irving Park, Starmount, Sedgefield, Lake Jeanette, Sunset Hills, Fisher Park, Westerwood, The Old North State Club at Uwharrie Point, Oak Ridge, Summerfield, Brunswick County, NC, and numerous other parts of the Triad and surrounding areas. He has three children that include a Multimedia Project Manager, a United States Marine/ICU Nurse, and an Assistant District Attorney.

How We Help Our Clients

We begin with an initial meeting creating a dialog to fully understand our client’s needs. The design process includes necessary revisions, then plans are developed for builders to create an estimate for construction. We then create construction drawings for permitting and the building process. We can also provide input regarding local contractors based on the type construction a client is seeking. Additionally, we will work with builders as needed, or on behalf of clients to effectively communicate the client’s needs and design goals.

Pethel Home Designs is a “full range” home design company that specializes in design and drafting that meet client goals with a comprehensive understanding of building practices. Our experience includes site selection, conception, design and planning, construction drawings and project management. Projects include new construction, renovations, additions, kitchens, baths, town-homes, outdoor living, garages and decks.
